Mountains-To-Sea-Trail Project

The Mountains-To-Sea Trail project was initially inspired by the beautiful flora and fauna that i encountered on my own weekend backpacking trips on the M-S-T, while living in North Carolina. The M-S-T is considered North Carolina’s long trail, and even among avid hikers this trail is not well known. It runs from Clingmans Dome in the Great Smokey Mountains to Jockeys Ridge, on the coast. The concept behind this project was to bring more awareness to this beautiful local trail and encourage active participation and interest in the local wildlife by getting people out in the woods. I tackled this concept by making the pamphlet about the beauty one sees on the trail, in contrast to a typical trail guide that focuses on mapping out hotspots on the trail through photography. I brought the focus onto the beauty of what one can see on this trail through illustrated drawings. These illustrations eventually transformed into a whole branding concept with its own logo and stickers.
